My grandpa was a cook in the Navy during World War II. I did a search on Google and found this picture after he mentioned a friend had told him there was one online. Pretty cool, huh?

That’s very cool Shannon! For Christmas my brother took about a thousand slides that my Mom had and put them all on cd for us – I had never seen many of the pictures including some of my Dad in uniform :)
Hi, I’m Shannon’s Mom and I am so very proud of my daughter that I’m busting my seams (gee, thanks, Shannon, as if I needed any more help with the seam busting problem, :-) ). This picture just happens to be of my precious Daddy, who will be 88 years young in less than two weeks. I have had the privilege of going with him to several WWII reunions where I have met some very interesting characters. We must never forget these courageous veterans who are now dying at the rate of 1,800 per day. At this rate they will soon be gone and we who are left here have an obligation to keep their spirit of faith, courage and allegiance to this country alive and well in the hearts of our children and grandchildren. Thanks, Shannon, for reminding your “old” Mom the importance of remembering God and Country through the men and women who gave their all.
